Stories

On this page I have posted stories that I have written in the past. Some of these stories were written a long time ago, perhaps a few years, and range in length, topic and style. Some of these stories may not be suitable for people under the age of 15, which I will indicate next to the story. I have what one could call a disturbed mind, so please do not let these influence you. :-) Most importantly, enjoy!! Feedback will be very much appreciated, especially from people who could publish some/all of them. :-)

PLEASE NOTE - This page is for your reading pleasure. If you intend to use these stories in any way, please credit the author. Failure to do so is a violation of copyright, as all the works on this page are copyright Nicola Brown.

The names and other similarities between people living or dead, and the characters in my stories are entirely coincidental, so please do not be offended if your name turns up in one of the stories as a bad and nasty character, or something. There is no harm or malice intended. Now, on with reading the stories!!!

  • The Glittering Adventure! - Written on the 4th May 1991, at the age of 7. Complete with spelling mistakes and wrongly capitalised letters and everything. See, I started writing even as a little girl!
  • Anita's Stepmother - Written in April 1992, aged 8. Sort of a cinderella type story but not. Oh, I had such an overactive imagination as a child!
  • Wanted for Murder - Transferred to my PC on 6 June 1999, but completed some time in 1997, I had been writing this story for a couple of years. I found the introduction for this story in a notebook where I'd written it some time before, and reading back on it a while later, decided I could do something with it, and completed it eventually, with help of my English teacher at the time. This story may not be appropriate for those under the age of 15.
  • Always and Forever - Written 6 June 1999, at age 15, this story is about a girl who has had an accident and has fallen into a coma. A story about her time in the coma and her recovery, with the help and support of her friends and family. A romantic type story of love, the kind that exists between family members, and the pain her condition gives her family and friends.
  • Just an Angel - Written 27 September 1999, at age 16. The inspiration for this story was the narrative of a dead person, and it seemed like an interesting concept to me. Basically, a girl dies, and tells the story of her family's life through her eyes.
  • The Bully - Started 5 April 2000, finished 31 August 2000, at around 5pm. I should stress that this story also is not suitable to be read by those under the age of 15. A very long (but good!!!) story (in several parts) following the life of a girl plagued by a bully since the first day of school and her fight with bulimia.
  • The Ghost - Written around November 2000 in the school library during a free period, I was bored and decided to write something. Inspired by the weather outside and the sounds I was hearing around me...
  • Hope - Written 8 March 2001, at age 17. Written for a school assignment for a long essay, I got my inspiration from two sources, the film 'What Lies Beneath' and a fairly recent news article about a woman and her boyfriend jailed for child abuse which ended in the child's death.
