Sabby's Story
I have been on the meds (Celexa) for about 3 weeks. Even in that short
amount of time, I've come to feel much better. I can't remember ever
feeling so good in my life. Things are much clearer to me, I have less
anxiety, and I feel content with life, despite the things that go wrong. I
have had some side effects, but most of those went away in the first couple
days. The only things that I still have are dry mouth, trouble falling
asleep (though this might not be the medicine), and lower sex drive. The
side effects are more than worth the drastic improvement in mood. People
have noticed it, so it's not just me.
I used to be against medicines, especially if they were realtively new like
Celexa is, but I wish I'd given in earlier because living is so much easier
now that it ever has been. I don't have a high or anything, but it at least
has given me the ability to function on a higher level than I was able to
before. If you have problems with depression, I urge you to speak to a
professional about it. No sense in trying to deal with it alone if
medicine, herbal supplements, alternative treatments, or therapy would help.
I spent too long not treating my depression and wasted a lot of years
being unhappy. Don't make that mistake.
